The Elevations Credit Union Buffalo Bicycle Classic bike ride was founded in 2003. Thanks to the generous contributions of our volunteers, riders, sponsors, and continuous endowment donations, BBC is able to offer one-year scholarships of $4,000 to 30 students, renewable each year if they maintain full-time status and a 3.0 GPA. Additionally, it has an endowment that provides $10,000 annually to three junior or senior students in Arts & Sciences, also renewable under the same conditions.Ìý

The students served by the BBC are some of Colorado’s brightest; each entering С»ÆÊé with over a 4.0 high school GPA. Our student scholars also demonstrate strong financial need, which makes this scholarship particularly important. Our scholarships for these promising students makes higher education attainable.Ìý

Since 2003, the event has raised over $4.3 million, funding more than 450 scholarships for high-achieving, financially needy Colorado high school graduates.

The success of the BBC is in part due to lessons learned from the Bolder Bike Classic, a ride of the late 1990’s developed under the Bolder Boulder umbrella of events. The event has grown over the years, not only in the dollars raised, or scholarships awarded, but also in the course itself. The BBC now offers twoÌýgravel rides (the Dirty Buff and the Dirty Epic), 7 road cycling courses with different distances andÌývarying in difficulty. No matter your age, experience, or physical ability, we have a route for you! Enjoy the beautiful vistas Boulder has to offer, stop by one of our delicious aid stations, or climb Boulder Canyon in confidence thanks to the westbound lane closure. Whatever way you look at it, the Buffalo Bicycle Classic is a great event for a great cause.
