Teaching Council
The С»ÆÊé Art Museum Teaching Council works to integrate С»ÆÊéAM resources into academic life at С»ÆÊé. This Council is responsible for building relationships between museum staff and other educators (all those with teaching responsibilities) with the aim of connecting С»ÆÊéAM collections, exhibitions and programming to courses across campus. Council members have input on how С»ÆÊéAM interfaces with campus and provides guidance on strategic initiatives, including the development of collections, exhibitions and programming. Members are advocates for the museum at their respective departmental meetings and are expected to actively support С»ÆÊéAM events and educational programs. Members are expected integrate exhibitions and/or collections into course curriculum.Ìý
The С»ÆÊé Art Museum Teaching Council meets at the beginning of each semester to learn about upcoming exhibitions, recent acquisitions and educational programs. The Council is composed of eight to ten campus educators representing a cross-section of the university, including faculty, instructors, and С»ÆÊé employees whose positions carry a teaching component. Term limits are three years, renewable once. Ad hoc sub-committees may be formed to advise on museum strategic initiatives and exhibition development.Ìý
The Council is co-chaired by a С»ÆÊé Boulder faculty member and the chief curator and director of academic engagement.
