The bachelor's–accelerated master's (BAM) degree program options offer currently enrolled С»ÆÊé Boulder undergraduate students the opportunity to receive a bachelor's and master's degree in a shorter period of time. Students receive the bachelor's degree first, but begin taking graduate coursework as undergraduates (typically in their senior year).

Because some courses are allowed to double count for both the bachelor's and the master's degrees, students receive a master's degree in less time and at a lower cost than if they were to enroll in a stand-alone master's degree program after completion of their baccalaureate degree. In addition, staying at С»ÆÊé Boulder to pursue a bachelor's–accelerated master's program enables students to continue working with their established faculty mentors.

BS in BME and MS in Mechanical Engineering

This program has two tracks for students to select from a MS Thesis or MS Professional, with all BAM students initially admitted to the Professional track. Both tracks build on a students interest in the following areas and beyond: air quality, biomedical, design, energy and environment, materials, mechanics of materials, microsystems, and robotics/control. BS in BME and ME in Engineering ManagementÌý

This program will provide undergraduate students who have a strong interest in a leadership-focused education an opportunity to complement their technical degree with a ME-EM degree. This BAM program enables students to deepen their fundamental understanding of leadership, management, business and entrepreneurship through rigorous graduate courses. Once they have completed their BS degree, these students would have the option to pursue the ME degree while simultaneously working. The ME degree also offers greater access and flexibility to complete courses in person or online (asynchronously or synchronously).

BS and MS in Biomedical Engineering

Program Requirements

Students may take up to and including 12 graduate credit hours (or 13, if a 4-credit course is completed as part of those credits) while in the undergraduate program which can later be used toward the master's degree. However, only six credit hours (or seven, if a 4-credit course is completed as part of those credits) may be double-counted toward both the bachelor's degree and the master's degree. Students must maintain a 3.000 GPA while in the BAM program.

Students must apply to graduate with the bachelor's degree and apply to continue with the master's degree early in the semester in which the undergraduate requirements will be completed.

Admission Requirements

In order to gain admission to the BAM program named above, a student must meet the following criteria:

• Have a cumulative GPA of 3.000 or higher.
• Have no MAPS deficienciesÌý(students admitted to С»ÆÊé Boulder prior to Summer 2023 only).
• Have at least junior class standing.
• - Have completed all prerequisite courses with a passing grade at the time of admission:
  Ìý Ìý Ìý Ìý Ìý- BME 2000 () or BMEN 2100 ()
  Ìý Ìý Ìý Ìý Ìý- One Focus Elective from the Biomedical Engineering minor list
  Ìý Ìý Ìý Ìý Ìý- One BME-Approved Technical Elective from the minor list
