The National Academy of Inventors (NAI) today announced that ���� Boulder researchers and spinout founders Mark Rentschler, Greg Rieker and Tin Tin Su have been designated as NAI Senior Members in recognition of their impact on society through extraordinary innovation.

Mechanical Engineering Professor Franck Vernerey, Assistant Mechanical Engineering Professor Carson Bruns and ATLAS Institute received $477,000 from the National Science Foundation to begin this three-year project in January 2021. Their research may one day enable soft machines to fully integrate with our bodies to deliver drugs, target tumors, or repair aging or dysfunctional tissue.

The University of Colorado jumped from No. 53 to No. 20 in a recent global ranking of the top 100 universities granted U.S. utility patents. All four campuses contributed to С����’s total 100+ patents, with С���� Boulder contributing 60.

Wil Srubar, an assistant professor in civil, environmental and architectural engineering and С���� Boulder’s Materials Science and Engineering Program, has won a National Science Foundation CAREER Award – one of the most prestigious awards for young faculty.

Randolph, a professor in the Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering, founded VitriVax, a ���� Boulder spinout, to commercialize new applications of atomic layer deposition techniques for producing thermally stable vaccines.
