    This summer, a unique group gathered in Florence, Italy to discuss the global future of the University of Colorado Boulder. Hosted by Chancellor DiStefano, the meeting engaged alumni representatives from across the world in a discussion about integrating our teaching and learning community into their local business and professional communities.

    <p>BBA has been responsible for developing and promoting new professional master’s degrees at С»ÆÊé Boulder for both on-campus and distance students. These services will now be expanded to all graduate education. With this move, the Graduate School will also be responsible for developing С»ÆÊé Boulder’s Massive Open Online Courses, known as MOOCs.</p>
  • Bobby Braun
    <p>Provost Moore today announced Bobby Braun as the new dean of the College of Engineering and Applied Science. Braun, who helped lead the team that put the first rover on Mars, is a professor of space technology at Georgia Tech. He is a member of the National Academy of Engineering and formerly worked at NASA Langley Research Center for 16 years. He'll arrive on campus to join the faculty in October 2016. His role as dean will begin in January 2017.</p>
  • Patricia Rankin
    <p>University of Colorado Boulder Vice Chancellor for Research and Innovation, Terri Fiez, has announced that Patricia Rankin will step down as Senior Associate Vice Chancellor for Research to return to the faculty on Aug. 15, 2016. As Senior Associate Vice Chancellor for Research, Rankin was a key contributor to many of the transformations that have occurred in the Boulder campus’s research support operations.</p>

    Environmental policy leader Alice Madden has been named executive director of Colorado Law's Getches-Wilkinson Center for Natural Resources, Energy, and the Environment, effective July 11.
  •  Ann Schmiesing
    Ann Schmiesing, professor of German and Scandinavian Studies, has been named interim vice provost and dean of the Graduate School effective June 20. Provost Russell L. Moore announced the appointment Tuesday, May 31.
  • Alan Kent, PhD
    Wardenburg Health Services is pleased to announce that Alan Kent, PhD, has accepted the position of the director of Counseling and Psychiatric Services (CAPS) at Wardenburg Health Services effective July 18, 2016.
  • Fellow Buffaloes: Today, the Chancellor and his team released the final decision in their review of our recent elections. While there are a lot of vastly different and sometimes opposing passions surrounding this issue, the current Tri-Executives and Chief Justice support this decision and will do what we can to ensure the continued stability and autonomy of our government.
  • Last week, I told you I would review the processes employed in the recent student election, which resulted in the disqualification of two Revolution Party Tri-Executive candidates. I trust that the С»ÆÊé Student Government is able to administer its own election processes. However, allegations of bribery surfaced shortly after voting ended, which set in motion judicial and executive reviews to ensure the integrity of the student election.

    Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs Christina Gonzales has named Akirah J. Bradley as the associate vice chancellor for student affairs and dean of students effective Aug. 1. Bradley joins С»ÆÊé-Boulder from the University of California, Berkeley where she has served as the assistant dean of students.
