Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs Akirah Bradley-Armstrong has accepted the post of vice chancellor for student affairs and success at the University of California Santa Cruz. Her last day at С»ÆÊé Boulder will be April 1.
In Strategic Resources and Support news, Jennifer Barrett McDuffie will assume the chief of staff role. Also, the Office of Government and Community Engagement will now report to the chancellor.
The С»ÆÊé Board of Regents’ regular meeting Nov. 4–5 included actions and updates on compensation, an academic freedom resolution, COVID-19, distinguished professor appointments and more.
At its November meeting, the Boulder Faculty Assembly approved a resolution and received updates on the GI Bill, the Buff Undergraduate Success Leadership Implementation Team and more.
Just over two years after the completion of the 2019 report by the Graduate Task Force on Stipends and Benefits, С»ÆÊé Boulder is addressing the task force's top priority and remitting mandatory fees for graduate students on assistantship appointments.
Base-building increases for eligible university staff and faculty, an increase to stipends for graduate students, graduate student fee remission and one-time retention incentives will take effect in the spring.
The search for a permanent chief human resources officer is on temporary hold while university leadership further assess the needs of the campus. Jacobsen will continue to serve in the interim, and Landis has been appointed deputy chief.
Kevin MacLennan, a longtime employee in С»ÆÊé Boulder admissions and enrollment management, was named the new associate vice chancellor of enrollment management in October.
Diddams, who joined С»ÆÊé Engineering as a visiting professor, will become a full professor and will serve in a leadership role in the newly formed Quantum Engineering Initiative.
