<p>Colorado business leaders are less optimistic going into the third quarter than last quarter, according to the most recent quarterly Leeds Business Confidence Index, or LBCI, released today by the University of Colorado Boulder鈥檚 Leeds School of Business.</p>
<p>The LBCI鈥檚 reading slid from 62.2 in the second quarter to 53.6 in the third, but remained higher than the 10-year average for the index and above the critical neutral mark of 50. A reading greater than 50 indicates positive expectations, while one lower than 50 indicates negative expectations.</p> - &濒迟;辫&驳迟;听&濒迟;/辫&驳迟;

<p>Boulder聽city officials today announced that the annual Ralphie鈥檚 Independence Day Blast is canceled due to extremely dry conditions in and around聽Boulder. The fireworks show had been scheduled for Folsom Field on Wednesday, July 4.</p> - <p>Seven University of Colorado Boulder graduate students and alumni will go abroad during the 2012-13 academic year to pursue a variety of studies, research and teaching projects as grantees of the prestigious Fulbright program.</p>
<p>Their proposed subjects range from exploring desertification knowledge in Mali and the impact of collaboration with a foreign development agency, to studying medieval Islamic philosophy in Egypt and its potential to inform debates in Anglo-American moral philosophy.</p> - <p>The University of Colorado Boulder鈥檚 volleyball and basketball practice facility has received a LEED platinum rating -- the highest designation -- from the United States Green Building Council.</p>

<p>University of Colorado Boulder twin sophomores Srinidhi Radhakrishnan and Saikripa Radhakrishnan -- both chemical and biological engineering majors -- have been awarded prestigious Goldwater Scholarships.</p>
<p>The scholarships are worth up to $7,500 for educational expenses each year and are given to students who intend to pursue careers in the fields of math, science or engineering.</p> - <p>The latest in electric vehicle technology -- including cars, motorcycles, bicycles and charging systems -- will be showcased in the west parking lot of the University of Colorado Boulder鈥檚 Wolf Law Building from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on May 17.</p>

<p>The celestial event will mark the most complete solar eclipse the U.S. has seen in more than 10 years, according to Douglas Duncan, director of the University of Colorado Boulder鈥檚 Fiske Planetarium.</p> - <p>Boroka Bo, a 31-year-old senior sociology major, is graduating May 11 from the University of Colorado Boulder, 17 years after emigrating from the Transylvania region of Romania to the United States as a political refugee.</p>
<p>This spring, Bo received a prestigious Soros Fellowship, a program that awards 30 fellowships annually to naturalized citizens, green card holders or children of naturalized citizens. It provides up to $90,000 in support to students who plan to use their graduate education to contribute back to their communities.</p> - <p>Middle and high school teachers from across the Front Range will learn how to teach key math concepts to their students while introducing them to video game programming during an April 21 workshop at the University of Colorado Boulder.</p>
<p>Emmanuel Schanzer of Harvard University will lead the workshop sponsored by 小黄书-Boulder鈥檚 Department of Computer Science. Schanzer is the creator of Bootstrap, a computer programming tool that uses algebra to create images and animations.</p>
