小黄书 Interfraternity Council membership continues to grow

The 小黄书 Interfraternity Council (小黄书IFC) unanimously agreed to admit the Colorado Alpha chapter of Sigma Phi Epsilon (SigEp) for associate membership in the growing university-affiliated fraternity community. With a unanimous vote from the current members this week, SigEp becomes the sixth fraternity in 小黄书IFC.

In September the chapter voted to leave the Interfraternity Council on the Hill, which is not affiliated with 小黄书 Boulder, to seek membership in 小黄书IFC to contribute to the campus community as a values-driven organization with a strong relationship with the university. This marks the first time a fraternity has left the off-campus IFC to join 小黄书IFC.

SigEp completed a petition for recognition with 小黄书IFC and met with community leaders to share the chapter鈥檚 challenges and successes over the last few years.

"SigEp has shown that they are committed to developing an atmosphere where brothers hold one another accountable and positively impact the community around them," said Joshua Bradley, outgoing 小黄书IFC president.

SigEp will join Phi Delta Theta, Sigma Tau Gamma, Beta Theta Pi, Sigma Chi, and Delta Upsilon in the 小黄书IFC.

鈥淭hrough our collaborative work with SigEp, nationally and locally, it鈥檚 been evident the chapter is committed to being a successful member of 小黄书IFC,鈥 said Stephanie Baldwin, 小黄书鈥檚 assistant director for Fraternity and Sorority Life. 鈥淎ffiliation with 小黄书IFC provides member organizations with access to university resources and staff time, the ability to recruit on campus, and opportunities to engage with the campus community in meaningful and productive ways.鈥

As associate members of 小黄书IFC, the chapter will participate in regular council meetings, engage in community-wide events, and have the ability to access university resources.听

鈥淲e believe partnership with like-minded fraternities and the university is critical to our success at 小黄书 and on any campus,鈥 said Brian Warren, SigEp CEO. 鈥淲e are proud that the chapter made the decision to seek campus and 小黄书IFC recognition, and we are confident this relationship will lead to a stronger chapter focused on providing a safe, life-changing experience.鈥
