小黄书 Beyond 1 consists of programs, events and experiences designed for second-, third- and fourth-year undergraduate students and above to help you find direction, build skills for your future and make the most of your time here.听


Make it Meaningful 听

As we begin a new semester, this is a great time to consider how you鈥檒l shape your college experience. This spring offers more than new classes鈥攖here are opportunities to deepen your involvement, explore different paths and build meaningful relationships that will last beyond graduation.听

By engaging with campus programs, seeking out mentorship and connecting with peers, you can nurture your ambitions and create a network of support. This is your chance to grow and figure out what really matters to you.

How to make your mark and discover your path

This month offers a chance for you to explore what truly sparks your interest, whether that鈥檚 through campus involvement, service, research or stepping up as a leader. Every hobby, club or class you dive into can be a steppingstone to discovering your purpose and connecting your passions to meaningful plans after graduation.

Having a mentor can be a game-changer during your time in college. A good mentor can support you as you work toward your goals, answer your questions and give you encouragement if things get challenging.听听

Student Employment

Working on campus during your second or third year can be a valuable way to develop professional skills, earn income and connect with fellow Buffs. On-campus jobs often offer flexible schedules that accommodate your classes, allowing you to prioritize academics while gaining experience. By taking on these roles, you can build rapport with faculty and staff, strengthen your resume and discover new interests or career directions that complement your studies.

Taking the initiative to pursue leadership opportunities during your second or third year can be transformative鈥攂oth in shaping your college journey and preparing you for the future. Leadership roles, whether in student organizations, student boards, research projects or volunteer programs, help you grow essential skills such as communication, organization, problem-solving and collaboration. These experiences allow you to broaden your perspective and contribute meaningfully to the campus community. Do you have an on-campus job or internship?

Stop by Career Services in C4C S440, between 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. between April 6-24 to get credit for your on-campus job or internship (even if you鈥檙e doing the job or internship this summer!).听

You can also attend a virtual drop-in to get credit between April 6-24.
