Sarah Goodroad has served as Program Coordinator for the Mortenson Center in Global Engineering and Resilience at the University of Colorado Boulder since 2017. In this role, she leads program operations, strategic communications, and engagement initiatives that advance the Center’s mission and expand its reach. She brings significant experience in financial and personnel management, program marketing, and strategic communication, ensuring strong operational foundations alongside clear, compelling storytelling.

Sarah designs and produces marketing materials, manages and maintains the Center’s website, and spearheads student recruitment efforts. She works intentionally to elevate the visibility and impact of Mortenson Center faculty, staff, students, and research. In addition, she provides direct support to students, faculty, and staff, and collaborates across departments to strengthen partnerships and ensure student success from recruitment through graduation. Her work centers on integrity, collaboration, and building systems that foster access, belonging, and academic excellence.

Beyond her work at С»ÆÊé Boulder, Sarah is Program Manager for Pathways To Jazz, a grantmaking initiative she helped build from the ground up alongside its Founder. Since 2014, the program has awarded nearly $500,000 to more than 130 jazz artists in the United States and Italy to support the recording of new albums. She previously owned and operated Goodroad Music for 15 years and has served on the board of the Muse Performance Space. A Colorado native, Sarah holds a Bachelor of Music from the University of Northern Colorado, where she studied cello, and taught music part-time. She is also the Founder of the Boulder Ukulele Group a community group of musicians that grew to over 350 local members under her leadership.

On weekends, Sarah serves as a Volunteer Ranger with Boulder County Parks and Open Space. She is proud to support the Mortenson Center’s vision of a world where all people have safe and reliable access to water, sanitation, energy, food, shelter, and infrastructure and can live in health and dignity.
